There is a mark under the upper left buttons, and a stain on the bottom left side. The cuffs are a bit distressed. A few of the buttons are missing, and the present buttons have some cracks. This coat overall has some fading / discoloration from age and storage. Please look over attached photos to get a good idea of over all condition. It is labeled as a size 38 R and fits true to size.    WWII US Army 4th Air Force Enlisted Trench Coat. It has no size tag, but measures 17 inches shoulder to shoulder, 18 inches armpit to armpit, 24 inches shoulder to cuff and is 48 inches in overall length. It is missing one of the top buttons, but still in great condition. All our items come from estate sales, yard sales, flea markets or places that we have traveled.    WWII US Military ARMY MEN'S WOOL Trench Coat July 8th 1942 metal shortage. 48" long, 19" chest, 26 sleeve. The "Overcoat, Wool, Roll Collar" was first issued in 1939 with brass buttons, similar to a design in use since 1927. It featured an olive drab, double breasted, wollen overcoat made with a convertible roll collar with notched lapels. This overcoat was issued to every soldier along with his service uniform to provide sufficient warmth for winter campaigns. The 1939 revisions included action pleats in the back, a more square look to the shoulders, and a straight front opening....

   (J181) For sale here is a very good looking US WW2 Enlisted Overcoat that was Converted to a Jeep Coat. The conversion has been very nicely done, and I assume it was a tailor conversion. The coat is made from heavy coarse wool. The kind of wool found on an enlisted overcoat. The coat has all yellow Lucite buttons, and they are all present.
