   Offered here is an original 1st pattern of the M38 Mackinaw "jeep" coat made by H. Under contract W669-QM 19279, date June 9, 1942. This is a New Old Stock example, still with cutter tags attached. First time I see one with cutter tags, and probably the last time. All parts are genuine to the jacket and comes complete with its belt, which is missing in most cases. Tiny moth nips on the wool collar, hardly noticeable, make sure to check pics. Also, included is a Clothing Issue Slip from 1946 that came inside the pocket issued to Emaneth Smith (unfortunately, no info about him). ...

The coat was pinned on the interior. The coat is not named, but has several patches and ribbons. This coat has a lot of major issues. The shearling lining has some pieces missing, wear, and is fragile overall. The shearling on the collar has some shedding and tearing around the edges. The outside of the canvas has some yellowing and scattered staining. Please look over attached photos to get a good idea of over all condition. It is labeled as a size 4.
